The Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Park Chamber of Commerce will continue its mission of serving private enterprises in the park, authorities stated at the first general meeting of the chamber on July 25.
Founded in 2003, the chamber is the first grassroots industry and commerce organization established in the development zone in Shanghai.
It has been serving as a bridge between enterprises and government and working on improving the level of innovation among its member companies and promoting the development of the non-public sectors of Zhangjiang's economy.
During the meeting, a group of new leaders were elected, with Tan Jianfeng, chairman of Shanghai PeopleNet Technology Co, appointed as president of the chamber.
The new leaders vowed to keep the chamber business-oriented and to do their utmost to communicate well with the government and help local companies solve problems.
It will also cooperate with Zhangjiang Development Promotion Council and related industrial associations to provide enterprises with all-round services.
Moreover, it will unite government and market forces and take advantage of the area's innovative systems to create an open and international business environment.
