A new entrepreneurship and innovation base will be set up in Zhangjiang Science City in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, according to an official announcement.
The base is a part of the national-level Xinhuo Project, which aims to develop a new type of platform for entrepreneurship and innovation in information technology, with a special focus on integrated circuit (IC) technology and products.
According to the plan, the Zhangjiang base will provide professional technical support for enterprises in the base and help them solve problems regarding industrialization, startup guidance, equity investment, debt financing and market expansion.
Additionally, it is expected that the base will attract about 50 enterprises in IC and related industries over the next three years who will generate an estimated output value of 10 billion yuan ($1.49 billion).
